Stake Youth Baptisms

This year we are trying something new and different and starting baptisms a little later, at 5:30 p.m., so that we can all be there to start together and eat as a group afterwards in the temple apartments. Please be on time or a few minutes before 5:30 p.m. so that we can promptly begin baptisms as a stake. 

The dates for Santa Monica Stake Youth baptisms are as follows:

Tuesday, February 10th - 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday, May 5th - 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday, September 1st - 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday, November 3rd - 5:30 p.m.

Remember to try to bring your own family names to the temple when you can.

Temple Challenge

Are you ready for a challenge?

In front of more than 4,000 youth at the 2014 RootsTech conference in Salt Lake City this past February, Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles issued a challenge: “My challenge for you is to prepare as many names for the temple as you perform baptisms in the temple.”

In an effort to help LDS youth around the world complete this challenge, the Church recently released a number of helpful tools online at templechallenge.lds.org.

 The Santa Monica Stake is ready to take on this challenge.  Our next youth trip to the temple is September 2.  We challenge each of you to:

1. Accept the challenge.  Go to templechallenge.lds.org to get started and watch a short video on how to find a name.

2. Find a name.

3. Go to the temple with us on September 2 with your ancestor name.

4.  Share it! Send your pictures to stacycrowther@gmail.com and we will post your picture on our blog.
